NXP Semiconductors JN5189/88 High-Performance and Ultra-Low-Power Microcontrollers (MCUs) are designed to power the next generation of low-current wireless devices, supporting Zigbee® 3.0, Thread, and IEEE 802.15.4. The low-power modes and ultra-low TX and RX power consumption enable a longer battery life in devices powered by the JN5189/88. These MCUs offer -100dBm RX sensitivity and up to +11dBm TX output power for reliable and robust communications performance. An Arm® Cortex®-M4 MCU powers the JN5189/88 modules and can run up to 640KB onboard flash and 152KB SRAM. This internal memory provides enough room and flexibility for complex applications and over-the-air (OTA) upgrade capability without external memory.

NXP JN5189/88 MCUs integrate an NTAG NFC for contactless NFC commissioning, simplifying the network build-out while saving energy and increasing security. The rich set of MCU peripherals and multiple serial communication interfaces are ideal for embedded connected applications. This includes the quad serial flash memory controller, SPIFI, which can extend non-volatile memory for data storage.
