Texas Instruments TPSI31PxQ1EVM Evaluation Module

Texas Instruments TPSI31PxQ1EVM Evaluation Module facilitates the evaluation of the TPSI31Px-Q1 device. The TPSI31P1-Q1 is an isolated switch driver with an integrated 17V gate supply and comparators to monitor the charging current and hysteretically drive the gate entirely on the secondary side with no additional logic required. This functionality allows the TPSI31P1 to charge a DC-link capacitor in any application, including electric vehicles (EVs) or hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) as a high-side active precharge solution.

The TPSI3052 is included in the TI TPSI31PxQ1EVM design but is not required for additional switching power. It is an isolated switch driver with an integrated 17V gate supply that can be used as a supplementary isolated power supply. The evaluation module features a buck topology using an HV inductor.

The TPSI31PxQ1EVM evaluation module also includes an N-channel silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET with a small 14nC gate charge, which helps us minimize the overall switching power needed. The board contains multiple test points to monitor TPSI31P1-Q1 functionality. In addition, the evaluation module contains an adjustable 5V LDO for flexible power input.

The TPSI31PxQ1EVM is ideal for hybrid, electric, and powertrain system applications.
