Molex LC Backplane Connector System (BLC)

Molex LC Backplane Connector System (BLC) uses a standard LC interface to provide a smooth transition from the PCB mounted and pigtailed active devices to backplane fiber optic components. The system consists of an optical backplane connector and adapter. The BLC system uses an axial design allowing the connectors to self-align inside the adapter and provide physical contact. BLC LC connector system uses unique mechanical latching to provide isolation between the card and backplane while minimizing the mechanical movement.

Molex BLC connectors provide a blind-mating interface through backplane BLC adapters with ceramic or metal sleeve adapters and standard LC input/output ports. The blind-mating interface provides easy insertion, removal, or exchange of the daughtercard without disrupting the input/output ports and the associated cabling.
