ams OSRAM TSL2521-EVM Evaluation Kit is a complete demonstration platform for the TSL2521 Ambient Light Sensor with Flicker Detection. The TSL2521 is designed to fit in the gap between the display screen and the chassis of a smartphone. Sensing flicker in artificial light sources such as LEDs at frequencies up to 7kHz, the TSL2521 provides an image correction input to the phone’s camera. This feature enables the camera to eliminate banding and other flicker-generated artifacts that can distort captured images and videos. The accuracy and high sensitivity of this device, measuring ambient light levels down to just 1mlux, support responsive display brightness management and help improve camera image quality. The compact 2.0mm x 1.0mm x 0.5mm size of the TSL2521 makes it ideal for wearable and smartphone applications.The ams OSRAM TSL2521-EVM Evaluation Kit consists of an EVM Controller Board, a TSL2521 Daughter Card, USB cable, and a Flash drive which includes the application installer and documentation. The EVM Controller Board features an onboard PIC Microcontroller and an industry-standard USB 2.0 interface. The EVM Controller Board provides power and I2C communication to the TSL2521 Daughter Card through a seven-pin connector. The EVM Controller Board is then connected to a PC through USB, enabling the user to interact with the target device via a Graphic User Interface (GUI).
The TSL2521 Daughter Card (TSL2521-DB) can also be purchased separately for users that do not require the EVM Controller Board.
